With consecutive days of high temperatures, changes will be in place for some train services.
On Wednesday, January 28, and Thursday, January 29, partial extreme heat timetables will be in place for the Echuca, Bendigo, Echuca, Seymour and Shepparton lines.
Extreme heat speed restrictions are enforced when temperatures exceed 36ºC to reduce the likelihood of train and track faults, while also keeping passengers safe.
When an extreme heat timetable is in place, journey times will be extended as we reduce the speed of trains.
On the Swan Hill line, coaches will replace trains to the last service on Friday, January 30.
Passengers are advised to plan ahead and check the V/Line website before travelling for the extreme heat timetables and any changes to their services, and please allow extra travel time.
There will be drinking water on board trains, and passengers are also encouraged to travel with bottled water and wear cool clothing.
