But will it be that easy? Rochester and Lockington-Bamawm United will be hoping for a late twist to the tale when semi-final matches are held this Saturday.
LBU has the advantage of home courts, with the finals to be held at LBU Tennis Club, but seasonal form wouldn’t indicate much else is in the side’s favour, as it has yet to pick up a win.
It comes into the semi against the minor premier, Echuca 1, which got the best of club rival Echuca 2 in the penultimate round to secure top spot.
The two sides played just two weeks ago in the final round, and it was Echuca on top 10 sets to 3, LBU having won no more than three sets against its opponent throughout the year.
In the other semi-final Echuca 2 battles Rochester.
Although on paper a grand final rematch from last season, the defending premier Rochester will go in a heavy underdog this time around.
Rochy has only got past LBU in its three wins this year, going down to both Echuca sides in every meeting so far.
Echuca has won each encounter 9-4 or better, and it will take an almighty effort to turn that around this time.
Matches will get under way from 1pm this Saturday, with the two winners to face off in the grand final the following week.
