The twice ARIA Hall of Fame inductee has maintained an unbroken career spanning over five decades, from Daddy Cool’s chart-smashing debut in 1971 to Mondo Rock's 1980s hits and his ongoing solo work.
“Consciously leaning towards the blues, which is kind of where I started out when I was a kid, I picked up the harmonica and started blowing it and that’s how I got in a band,” Ross said.
His latest 2023 release, She’s Stuck On Facebook All The Time, marks a return to new material after focusing on touring.
“I had released things, but they tended to be things like live albums of Mondo Rock, things in the vault that were very, very good,” he said.
“And before I knew it, time had passed and I hadn't put out anything new.”

The Eagle Rock anniversary tour has proven remarkably successful.
“This is a little tour that I’m doing, it keeps stretching on and on, because it is very successful,” Ross said.
“It is all about 50 years of Eagle Rock, the song I wrote when I was in Daddy Cool.
“In the streaming era it is in the 50 or 60 million streams already, I've lost count, and it just keeps going strong.”
The tour features Daddy Cool classics, Mondo Rock hits, and new material.
“I’m hoping everybody comes along, it is a family kind of thing, and if the kids come along we will have them dancing in the aisles,” Ross said.
