Chief among the signatures is that of Jaron Murphy, with the club announcing his commitment for 2027 on Monday after what was a stellar 2026 campaign.
Joining the Lions this year from Northern Football League club Whittlesea, Murphy quickly showcased his elite running ability on the wing to establish himself as one of the most damaging players across the competition, averaging more than 20 disposals and seven marks per outing.
His impact was felt on the scoreboard, too, having booted 30 goals from 17 games, while also averaging more than six score involvements as he stretched opponents heading back towards goal, proving himself to be one of the best recruits across the league this year.
Joining Murphy in having confirmed their commitment in recent weeks are regular senior players Lewis Lubeck, Lachlan Giles, Cooper Holdsworth-Rose, Jesse Brock, Ben Cooney and Ricky Schraven, who follow the lead of some big-name Lions in having already committed, with co-coach Jack Murphy, Riley Mason, Huw Jones and recently crowned 2026 best-and-fairest Dylan Cook having all already been announced as re-signing.
The signings have continued on the netball court, too, with a pair of key pillars at either end of the court returning to Seymour next year.
Ruby Martin and Toni Bootland have both signed on for next season, with the tall and athletic pair having proved extremely valuable at goal shooter and goalkeeper, respectively, this season, helping the Lions in their September run.
They join Elle Nexhip and Ally Black in committing to the Lions in 2027 in what is already shaping as a formidable A-grade line-up for Seymour, which will be further enhanced by the arrival of VNL talent Hayley Howard.
Howard, a tall shooter, joins the Lions with plenty of top-level experience, having played for the Ariels under-19s VNL side in 2022 before a three-year stint at the Southern Saints in the under-23s, before linking up with Nexhip at the Bendigo Strikers in the championship side this season, draining 446 goals to help the Strikers progress to their first ever finals campaign.
