Over nine fun-filled days, families can enjoy plenty of free and low-cost activities.
It’s a chance for kids and their families to connect, explore and celebrate the spirit of our community.
Benalla Festival chair and Rural City of Benalla Deputy Mayor Justin King said the festival was a celebration of community, with a special focus on children and families.
“From toddlers to teens, the program includes something for every age group,” he said.
“Whether it’s creative play for the under-fives, games and entertainment for primary-aged kids, or music and exhibitions that will appeal to teenagers, we have everyone covered.
“It’s exciting to see so many festival events designed for young people and families.
“They’re at the heart of our community and the future of our region.”
The Benalla Festival officially opens on Saturday, October 31 with a free, family-friendly Halloween event at the Benalla Golf Club.
Expect a night packed with playful scares, activities and entertainment.
Dress up in your favourite Halloween costume to be in the running for prizes for best dressed.
Highlights for young people across the program include several free events such as the barbecue and board games session hosted by Room at The Table, a ukulele workshop for beginners aged 10 and up and the Full Impact Squad returns with its Sideshow Alley at Benalla by the Lake.
These events give young people safe, welcoming spaces to connect and socialise.
For the littlest locals, the Tomorrow Today Foundation will welcome children aged 0 to 5 years to take part in its free Mini Monets activity.
The youngsters will be given a mini canvas to create their own painted portrait of someone special to unleash their inner artist and celebrate their connection to their community.
Looking for something different? The Benalla Soars event at Benalla Airfield offers the opportunity to experience a day of exciting ground-based gliding activities.

It all wraps up with Benalla by the Lake, the ultimate family-focused festival finale.
This fabulous free evening takes place on Saturday, November 7 on the Lake Benalla foreshore.
