Featuring homes from Sherridon Homes, Simonds, Metricon, JG King Homes, Hotondo Homes, GJ Gardner Homes, Cavalier Homes and Southern Vale, the new display village will give would-be homebuyers across Echuca and district a chance to explore a range of home designs, layouts and styles in one place.
The opening comes as Yallarah progresses its role in Echuca’s western growth corridor, with the development planned to deliver more than 2000 new homes.
Campaspe Shire’s population is projected to grow from approximately 38,000 in 2025 to more than 42,000 by 2046, with the majority of this growth expected in Echuca.
As the region continues to expand, Yallarah will help meet that housing demand.
Echuca’s appeal as a place to live, work and visit has also been recognised nationally, with the town named Australia’s third Top Tourism Town at the 2026 Australia’s Top Tourism Town Awards.

Alongside new housing, around 30ha of Yallarah will be dedicated to green open space, with a green spine connecting the community’s three precincts through wetlands and parklands.
Residents will also benefit from amenities including walking and cycling paths, three playgrounds, exercise stations, a dog park, basketball and netball courts, a skate park and barbecue facilities.
Yallarah will also be home to a 100-place early learning centre, due to open next year.
To celebrate the display village's opening, Yallarah will host a country carnival-themed grand opening event from 10:30am-1pm on November 14.
The family-friendly event will feature entertainment, food trucks, builder activations, scavenger hunts and a visit from the Echuca West Fire Brigade.
Yallarah welcomed its first resident in June this year.
Aimee, a local primary school teacher, and her partner Jordi said they chose to build their first home together in Yallarah due to its central location.
“We’ve lived in Echuca our entire lives, and we were attracted to the space on offer, as well as the community’s central location,” she said.

“We’ll be close to family and friends, and once the estate is fully developed, lots of walking opportunities, dog parks and hangout spots.”
