PEOPLE across Campaspe Shire may have noticed black police vehicles driving around their towns this week.
Police from the state's public order response unit have been saturating roads across central Victoria as part of an operation to reduce road trauma during the Christmas and New Year period.
Operation Roadwise involved Public Order Response Team vehicles and officers patrolling roads, highways and streets around Campaspe Shire on Tuesday, January 5.
PORT focused on speeding, drink driving, mobile phone use while driving and seat belt offences.
A post on Eyewatch - Campaspe Police Service area urged drivers to stay safe, stay slow on wet roads and turn their headlights on day and night.
Operation Roadwise started at 12.01am on December 18 and finishes at 11.59pm on Wednesday, January 6.
