The memorial will have a permanent place in the playground after the removal of a previous garden years ago.
Principal Bernadette Murphy said the garden, which was dedicated to a student who had passed away, had to be dismantled for security reasons and the new garden would be welcomed.
‘‘This is a mark of respect to the students who have passed away in their time here at the school and gives us a place to remember them.
‘‘It will never be built over or moved and allows students to sit, remember and pay their respects in the beautiful garden we are in the process of planting.
‘‘We aspire to keep the memory of these young students alive as they were very valued members of the school community,’’ she said.
The garden will be located on the Poictiers St side of the school on the main campus.
‘‘The Men’s Shed constructed the memorial and I am in the process of planting shrubs and other plants for students who sit in this area to reflect.
‘‘We hope to have it completed in the next school term but names are always welcomed and can be added.
‘‘If you have a name please call the school as we would love to honour all those we have lost.
‘‘All we need is the student’s name, date of birth and the date they passed away,’’ Mrs Murphy said.
