Biggest Morning Tea’s back

By Deniliquin Pastoral Times

The Cancer Council’s traditional Deniliquin Biggest Morning Tea events will be held next Thursday.

On the day a delicious spread of morning tea goodies will be available from the Cressy St Kiosk in Deniliquin from 8.30am.

Co-coordinator Pat Austin said it is a great opportunity to grab something yummy and to support a great cause.

‘‘We will have plates of scones, cream and jam at the kiosk with a variety of other baked goods from the Deniliquin High School Hospitality class,’’ Mrs Austin said.

‘‘We are also running our annual raffle. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased at the front of IGA on most days leading up to the event, and on the day.’’

Prizes include a patchwork quilt for first prize, a crocheted rug for second, a crocheted knee rug for third and a getaway rug for fourth.

Adding to the efforts this year are the Deni Dodgers Lifeball group, who had their morning tea event at the Deniliquin RSL Club yesterday.

‘‘We are grateful for anything that people can contribute and as always, encourage the support of the community,’’ Mrs Austin said.

This coming Thursday is the official date for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

All proceeds from Biggest Morning Tea events fund Cancer Council coordinated research, prevention and support programs.
