Reel in a big fish and big prizes

By Riverine Herald

THE Echuca United Fishing Classic lends a chance to reel in the catch of the day — or weekend — and score some handy prizes in doing so.

After the event’s successful launch in 2018, the fishing classic is back for a second year, starting tomorrow afternoon and finishing on Sunday.

And if you land the big one you could also land yourself a boat, motor and trailer package worth $15,000 from Boats and More.

The second annual event will be staged at Morning Glory River Resort in Moama with live entertainment kicking off on the Friday from 8pm — meals from 6pm — but everyone needs to have their rods ready for the ‘reel’ action from 7am on Saturday.

Fishing runs until 5pm on the Saturday while the Sunday event runs from 7 until 11am.

There will be competitions for all age groups and abilities and fishing can be done by boat or from the bank as competitors take in the scenery and enjoy the serenity.

With thousands of dollars worth of other prizes on the line it won’t be too shabby picking up some of the other awards either.

And don’t worry if fishing is not your go. There will be loads of activities and entertainment available for those who don’t wish to compete in the competition.
