IT’S your chance (oh, yes, and your children’s too) to get down and dirty again — at the Echuca Toy Library’s annual Messy Play Day.
The library will throw open its doors on Saturday morning for children aged one to 10 years and their families to show off what they have on offer.
Toy library secretary Tara Horkings said it had been a popular day in the past. ‘‘The kids really love it,’’ she said. ‘‘It’s our major day to open the doors and show the community that we’re welcoming and inclusive.’’
Messy activities include the ability to play in slimy spaghetti and goop, a mini car wash, face painting and so much more.
Bunnings crafts and a preloved toy sale will also be there for those who don’t fancy the grubbiness.
“Play can be recognised as the ‘work’ of children, and this is an awesome way to show off our library,” Ms Horkings said.
There is a $5 donation per family to take part in the day and memberships can be purchased at half price on the day.
It will run from 10am until noon behind the Toy Library in Heygarth St.
