It’s a team effort

RUN Melbourne will be a family affair for the Nevins as they get ready to knock out a quick 5km in support of Johnno’s Run next month.

Tristan and Chelsea, along with their daughters Isabel and Abigail, are taking part in their first Johnno’s Run — and their first family fun run.

With the family training for the event since the launch night in March, they are confident they can go the distance and their fundraising is going just as well.

Tristan said the goal to raise $1000 was well within reach as the current tally is sitting at slightly less than $500.

‘‘You support your friends and your community and this year we decided we wanted to make a bigger impact however we could,’’ he said.

‘‘And to teach the kids what it means to support others and raise some money.’’

As is often the case with fundraising in Echuca-Moama, people came out of the woodwork to donate.

‘‘We’ve had a small number of people donate large amounts but we’re confident we can get there,’’ Tristan said.

‘‘The community is really outstanding with fundraising for causes. Everyone in town is so generous and so we wanted to do what we could to help.’’
