‘‘I’m tired,’’ she said when she finally returned to Vic Park.
‘‘It was a long race,’’ laughed mum and observer Carlie.
‘‘It was good being out there, certain parts of the course were a bit choppy, but other than that we had a pretty good run down the river,’’ Charlette said.
Carlie said she was proud of the teams effort.

‘‘We only set out the goal to finish the race. It wasn’t a question of how long we took to get there, it was simply a case of finishing. Elm St was one of the final boats to cross the finish line in the morning session, but for the up and coming skiers, just getting there was enough.
