Come and Try day
Commander Dacre Stoker, Irish Croquet Champion, once called croquet “an impossibly difficult exercise played to incomprehensible rules by venomous and tenacious people who have a tendency to swear under their breaths”.
But it’s not really.
It’s a competitive game that involves non-impact exercise and some tactics and is good for mind and body.
And at Rich River it’s played by friendly and helpful people who thoroughly enjoy the game.
You’re welcome to try croquet at Rich River Golf Club, 24 Lane Moama, on Sunday, November 11 and 25 at 2pm.
Croquet will also be available as part of Rich River’s family fun day on November 18 between 10am and noon.
The croquet courts are located behind the bowling greens.
Wear flat-soled shoes and a hat if it’s sunny.
All equipment and instruction will be provided so come and join the fun.
