Reid rewrites the UAE record books

ARCHIE Reid’s trip to the UAE could not have gone better.

The young runner made his way overseas to run his first half-marathon, and left the world knowing exactly what the kid from Echuca was capable of.

Reid ran the Ras Al Khaimah half-marathon, a 21.1 km event, and claimed the junior victory in a time of 1:08:17.

Reid’s time wiped more than four minutes off the previous junior record of 1:12:31.

Reid was the 26th fastest male competitior at the race, and the 33rd fastest time overall.

Reid has continued on to Kenya for high-altitiude training.
