Rich River Golf Club's Paul Lavars said providers were ecstatic to finally have some good news after months of issues.
“The numbers have been fantastic,” he said.
“People are booking in their droves, and we are seeing more bookings for December dates than we often have by now.
“People are being proactive, they are getting those bookings in advance, and so our Moama operators are in a great position heading into that border opening date on November 23.”
Riverboat Lodge Motel's Grant Casbolt said the same was happening in Echuca.
“The number of bookings has definitely gone up,” he said.
“Having access to that Melbourne market again and the number of people now travelling around the state, and planning to travel in the future, is fantastic.
“It gives us more certainty in terms of bookings. And we expect when the NSW border opens up in the next few weeks both sides are going to see even more bookings and people through their doors.”
Murray River Resort operator Steve Shipp said all signs were good.
“We booked most of our rooms for the two weeks after the border comes down within 24 hours of it being announced,” he said.
“We have bookings through to December, higher than we have in the past, and they're starting to carry over into January up the long weekend as well.
“Hopefully this continues and we can get even more bookings through the doors.”
