AFTER going virtual last year, the Echuca Lions Club will be back collecting for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal in person.
COVID-19 sent collectors back home during lockdown in 2020, but Echuca Lions Club member Laurie Stewart said members were ready to take to the streets once again.
“It was a shame we couldn't go door knocking last year, but we were still able to raise about $43,000 online,” he said.
“It will be great to work with the Echuca CFA to get that back up and running this Good Friday.”
The club will team up with the Echuca, Echuca Village and Bamawm Extension CFA crews, SES, Moama Fire + Rescue and RFS to help raise funds for the cause.
“We will also be allowed to go back for our intersection collection on the corners of Ogilvie and High streets,” Mr Stewart said.
“At the same time we will have a table or two set up in the function room on Good Friday and hopefully inside the Echuca Workers for anyone who wants to drop in or is walking past.”
The Workers will also raffle off a number of hampers donated by the Good Friday Appeal on Friday, April 2.
