Part of an overhaul to the national highway between Echuca and Yarrawonga includes installing a right turn lane at Scott Rd, improving the right turn lane, shoulders and drainage at Murphy Rd and improving car parking at the Wyuna Rest Area.
At Simmie Rd, crews are adding right and left turn lanes, strengthening the road and installing new lighting.
Regional Roads Victoria northern operations manager Barry Green said the Simmie Rd works were part of intersection upgrades under the first round of a $25 million Victorian Government investment.
“The Echuca community is growing and we're rolling out works to make sure the transport network keeps pace,” he said
“On top of a major intersection upgrade underway at Ogilvie Ave and Sturt St, crews are on the ground targeting the Murray Valley Hwy between Echuca and Yarrawonga.
“We're building turning lanes at Scott and Simmie Rds, completing strengthening works near Murphy Rd and improving car parking at the Wyuna rest area to make the journey safer and easier for drivers.”
All works are expected to be complete by August. For more information visit regionalroads.vic.gov.au
