Christopher Luke Hili and Lee Kathleen Hili were found guilty in 2024 in the Queensland Supreme Court of two counts of rape, exposing a child to an indecent act and exposing a child to an indecent film.
Lee Hili was jailed for six years while her husband, also found guilty of supplying cannabis to a child, was jailed for seven years.
Queensland Attorney-General Deb Frecklington later launched an appeal, arguing the sentences including the non-parole periods were "manifestly inadequate"Â
Court of Appeal Justice Thomas Bradley on Tuesday agreed, saying the couple's offending was aggravated by the vulnerability of an intoxicated young victim in an unfamiliar house and the protracted nature of the assault.
"Their sexual offending was opportunistic, but nonetheless deliberate and predatory," he said.
Each offender had a year added to their head sentence, while each will have to wait longer to be considered for release on parole.
A jury found they had sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl after she became sickened by alcohol and cannabis use at their Gold Coast home.
The couple, together since 2017, held each other in the dock when jury members returned guilty verdicts on all counts in April 2024 after deliberating for about two hours following a five-day trial.
Crown prosecutor Melissa Wilson said during the trial the girl had attended an evening party at the Hilis' 12-hectare property in the Gold Coast region in December 2021.
"Christopher Hili rolled a joint of cannabis and offered it to (the girls) and they smoked it," Ms Wilson said.
She said the girl also consumed alcohol, causing her to vomit and thought she was being taken to her friend but was instead taken to the couple's bedroom.
The girl said she passed out when Christopher Hili started touching her and then woke up naked while being sexually assaulted by the couple as a pornographic movie was playing.
Justice Bradley's decision to increase the Hilis' sentences was unanimously supported by justices Debra Mullins and Melanie Hindman.
The Hilis' appeals against their convictions were also dismissed after Justice Bradley found there was no miscarriage of justice in the trial judge's directions to the jury.
Lee Hili's minimum term was extended to 18 months to April 2027 while her husband's was pushed out 25 months to April 2028.
