Police and Ambulance Victoria were called to a Rose St property at 8.15am Sunday where they found a 42-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his upper body and assault-related injuries to his face.
He was flown to The Alfred hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police arrested Waylon Walsh, who was later charged with trafficking heroin and methamphetamine.
