The 28-year-old Echuca man was arrested in his car at Tongala on Monday and charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft and criminal damage.
Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said the man was accused of a burglary and theft of three mobile phones at Echuca's Telstra Shop and an attempted burglary of a Haverfield St house on August 15.
"The next day, there was a burglary at the Haverfield St home where a laptop computer and personal items were stolen, so he has been charged with burglary and theft in relation to that," he said.
The same day, August 16, he is accused of breaking into a Landsborough St home and stealing thousands of dollars worth of jewellery and a computer.
The man then allegedly stole a Lexus sedan from Haverfield St on August 30 and used keys to enter the Echuca-Moama Theatre Company shed in Simmie St and steal a laptop computer before dumping the car in the Murray River.
He has also been charged with the destruction of Echuca parking meters and theft of cash boxes on September 8-9, theft of a pushbike from a Crofton St caravan park and burglary of a Campaspe Esplanade home on September 10 where jewellery and cash were stolen.
The man was bailed by police to appear at Echuca Magistrates Court on December 3.
