THE cause of a bushfire that broke out near Gunbower on Thursday is under investigation.

Two heavy tankers and 10 light units from Forest Fire Management Victoria attended the 100m by 100m fire, 12km east of Gunbower near Jones Bend, at 3.45pm.
“It's being investigated but we don't believe it's suspicious,” FFMVic district duty officer Joseph Rogasch said.
“It will probably be contained within an hour.
“There are a lot of redgum trees around so it will be an ongoing thing to keep checking the area.”
Mr Rogasch said there was no risk to the public or of the fire spreading to nearby properties.
