And the committee couldn't be more excited.
“We’re ecstatic to open our doors again,” treasurer Tara Horkings said.
“It’s been quite surreal not having that regularity and meeting with other families and kids who have missed out on that connection with the toys for so long.
“We’re looking forward to getting everyone back in the toy library and enjoying playing again.”
The toy library on Heygarth St will open on Saturday, July 4, from 10am to noon.
The same goes for Saturday, July 11, but from then, the library will return to its usual opening hours of 10-11am every Saturday.
The committee recently received a $632 grant from Campaspe Shire Council which has allowed members to buy hygiene products and other essentials to cater for COVID-19 restrictions.
“We're extremely thankful for that,” Tara said.
“We will of course be following the restrictions and will have cleaning stations where people enter and will be making sure toys are cleaned prior to entering.
“We will also be allowing seven people in the building at the one time and committee members will be directing people in the best way possible.
“There will be a friendly face to welcome you when you arrive and let you know what’s happening.”
And with more than 800 toys to choose from, all children will find something to entertain them.
“We now have big kids toys for children aged 10-12 as well as preschooler toys,” Tara said.
Tara said the committee was always looking for new members and would hold its AGM on July 29.
“The toy library continues to be a nice community hub for families and parents looking for a community connection,” she said.
