Border open to residents from midnight

By Andrew Johnston

THOSE in possession of a valid border permit will be permitted to cross into NSW for every day life purposes from midnight.

It means residents in border towns such as Echuca-Moama and Cobram-Barooga will be able to resume every day life across their towns.

Member for Albury Justin Clancy announced the news on Facebook on Wednesday night.

"From midnight tonight in accordance with the Victorian health order, Victorian residents with a border region permit can travel into New South Wales," he said.

"The permitted reasons has been removed, which means so long as you have a valid border region permit, you can travel across the border, so that brings back the every day life."

More information is expected to be released tomorrow regarding the changes.
