Intereach started in Deniliquin in 1973 and has been a major success story, with the not-for-profit now servicing 38 local government areas across NSW and Victoria with 17 offices established across its footprint.
And what better way to celebrate this significant year than with the people the organisation is here to support every day, community.
Intereach co-CEO Michelle Tai said it was a remarkable journey for the organisation, grown from a community vision to better rural and regional communities.
“Today, we have an amazing team of more than 500 staff and 100 volunteers, helping and guiding communities in so many ways through the National Disability Insurance Scheme, aged care, families’ services, mental health support, First Nations support, community transport and Meals on Wheels,” she said.
“We’re so proud of what we’ve accomplished in the past 50 years, but we’re even more excited about the future. We’re committed to building stronger, more connected communities, supporting people, and advocating for services and support for regional areas.”
To celebrate, the Echuca community is invited to come along on Wednesday, September 6 from 10am-1pm to the cross-walk near Cotton On, 147 Hare St.
This is a chance for the Echuca community to come together, share stories, and celebrate the connections that have made Intereach an integral part of our community.
Intereach staff will be on hand to answer any questions about its services.
There will be giveaways, food and friendship.
