The remarkable careers of two of the most recognisable and respected team members, Fran Martin and Di Kelly, are being celebrated after both announced their retirement after decades of dedicated service to the region’s tourism industry.
Between them, Ms Martin and Ms Kelly have contributed more than 32 years to welcoming, guiding and inspiring visitors from across Australia and around the world.
Ms Martin, who has served the centre for an extraordinary 19 years, has been a cornerstone of visitor service in Echuca-Moama.
Known for her warmth, deep local knowledge and unwavering commitment to guest experience, Ms Martin has helped shape countless holidays and created lasting memories for hundreds of thousands of travellers.
Ms Kelly, with 13 years of service, has been equally instrumental in showcasing the region’s heritage, attractions and hospitality.
Her friendly approach, passion for the community and ability to make every visitor feel welcome have made her a beloved figure among guests and colleagues alike.
Together, Ms Martin and Ms Kelly have been the trusted faces of the visitor information centre, often the first point of contact for travellers seeking advice, reassurance or a friendly chat.
Their combined impact on the region’s tourism reputation is immeasurable.
“The broader tourism community extend their heartfelt thanks to Fran and Di for their exceptional service, professionalism and passion,” visitor services co-ordinator for the Port of Echuca Andrea Basham said.
“Their contribution has enriched the experiences of visitors, strengthened the region’s tourism offering and embodied the spirit of Echuca-Moama.”
Their work has supported the growth of Echuca-Moama as one of Australia’s most recognisable heritage tourism destinations and their influence will continue to be felt long after their retirement.
