Projects supported by the sponsorship program so far include a new battery system for the Deniliquin Boat Club, a PA system for the Deniliquin Rams Football and Netball Club and Can Assist’s popular High Tea.
While the wind farm is in early development, project developer Aurora Pont said the team is proud to have support a range of community initiatives already, and “helping deliver practical benefits for local organisations and residents”.
“We value opportunities to contribute to projects that improve local facilities, strengthen community connections and provide lasting benefits for the region,” she said.
Deniliquin Boat Club volunteer grants co-ordinator Anthony O’Donnell said the battery system complemented solar panels already in place, helping to provide renewable power to the clubhouse.
“Incorporating battery energy storage to the solar panels at the Deniliquin Boat Club is a win-win situation, providing long-term savings on energy bills, enhancing environmental sustainability and improving the club’s public image as a forward-thinking community hub,” he said.
Deniliquin Can Assist committee member Liz Whykes said the support from Conargo Wind Farm as a gold sponsor meant more of the proceeds could be donated to local families impacted by cancer.
The annual event drew a strong crowd, with more than $28,000 raised.
It was so popular, the event outgrew its previous venue and tickets sold out in just four minutes.
“Can Assist Deniliquin is incredibly grateful for Squadron Energy’s generous support of our High Tea,” Ms Whykes said.
“The commitment to our cause helps us make a meaningful difference in our community.”
