Greater Shepparton City Council will hold two listening posts and a workshop to engage with the public on how the spaces are currently used, what is currently enjoyed the most and what opportunities should be explored in the future.
Council’s Returning Our City to the River project aims to address the longstanding belief that Shepparton has ‘turned its back on the river’ and identify potential opportunities to integrate the CBD with local water ways.
Mayor Geoff Akers encouraged community members to engage with the opportunity to speak to project representatives directly.
“Whether you live, work, own a business, study or spend time in these areas, we want to hear your thoughts and understand what is important to you,” Cr Akers said.
The first listening post will be held at the Maude St Stage on Saturday, October 24 from 10am to noon.
The second will be held at the barbecue area near the skate park at Victoria Park Lake on Monday, October 26.
A workshop for CBD-based businesses will be held on Tuesday, October 20 at 5.30pm in the Senior Citizens Hall at 132 Welsford St.
