THROUGHOUT winter, footy is the main sport of choice for Echuca-Moama Rockets.

But in recent weeks, the team has turned to the round-ball game — giving soccer a go as part of a five-week program.
The change has been possible after the club received a $2500 VicHealth Active Club grant.
These grants have two main purposes, including increasing female participation opportunities and supporting social and modified sport programs for less active Victorians.
Prue O'Dea, who has helped to organise the program, said the grant had allowed the Rockets to purchase several pieces of equipment.
“We've brought soccer shirts and shin guards for our participants to wear,” she said.
“In terms of equipment, we've now got two sets of soccer goals and all brand new balls.
“We're extremely thankful to Workwear for creating our shirts and Intersport Bennetts who helped us to purchase the equipment.
“The program has been a massive success so far.”
Luka, Gypsy and Rory Van De Zand from Moama-Echuca Border Raiders have been involved in the program by coaching all of those involved.
The Rockets will go through two more training sessions, on March 4 and 11, with their final session to include skills training and a game.
