Further details have emerged about a crash at Tatura today.
Tatura Police Sergeant Darryl Phillips said a Holden Commodore travelling west on Toolamba-Rushworth Rd and a Ford Territory travelling south on Tatura-Murchison Rd collided at 4.50pm.
The high-speed impact pushed both vehicles off to the western side of the Tatura-Murchison Rd.
The Commodore ended up in water in a ditch on the side of the road, and the Territory was almost in the drainage channel.
One of the vehicles was towing a trailer, which ended up in the drainage channel.
The single occupant of the Territory was a 53-year-old man from Violet Town.
The Commodore had three occupants – a 29-year-old man and 23-year-old woman from Merrigum, and a 32-year-old Shepparton woman.
The Merrigum man and woman were taken by air ambulance to Shepparton Airport and then airlifted to a Melbourne hospital.
The other two were taken to Goulburn Valley Health by road ambulance.
Both roads were closed for two hours after the crash.
Toolamba-Rushworth Rd has opened, and Tatura-Murchison Rd remains blocked.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said two people were airlifted to hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Murchison-Tatura Rd and Toolamba-Rushworth Rd.
A woman is being treated for a back injury and is in a serious but stable condition.
A man is also being treated for a back injury and is in a stable condition.
Another patient is being taken to Goulburn Valley Health by road ambulance in a stable condition.
UPDATE, 6.10pm:
Police, ambulance, Tatura SES, Shepparton Search and Rescue, and fire brigade are on the scene of a crash at Tatura.
Currently, both Murchison-Tatura Rd and Toolamba-Rushworth Rd are closed, and motorists should seek alternate routes.
Traffic is being diverted.
EARLIER, 5.30pm, Wednesday, November 22:
Emergency services are responding to a two-vehicle crash at Tatura on Wednesday, November 22.
The crash is believed to have happened at about 4.45pm at the intersection of Murchison-Tatura Rd and Toolamba-Rushworth Rd.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics were called to Tatura just before 5pm to a report of a collision. At this stage, it appears four people are being assessed at the scene.
