The native flower showcase, put on by the Echuca-Moama branch of the Australian Native Plants Society, aims to inspire, educate and encourage people to plant natives in their own backyards.
Rhonda Dorgan, one of the event’s organiser, said no matter where people were on their gardening journeys, the day was well worth attending.

“People have some preconceptions about natives, Ms Dorgan said.
“They think they’re all huge like eucalyptus trees or low-lying bushes, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
“We’ll have hundreds of gorgeous natives, about 90 per cent grown locally.
“Come along, see what you can do, and get some new plants and expert advice.”
As well as talking to local gardeners, visitors can grab some cheap natives from Goldfields Revegetation Nursery, and pick up tips from renowned Eremophila expert Russell Wait.
“Natives have so many benefits,” Ms Dorgan said.
“Not only are they beautiful, they attract wonderful animals and insects to your backyard.
“I really encourage people to come and see what’s possible in their garden.”
The event will take place from 9am to 3pm on Saturday, October 3 at Echuca Masonic Lodge, with tickets sold at the door.
