In a joint media release, Greater Shepparton City Council, Workforce Australia Local Jobs (Goulburn Murray) and Committee for Greater Shepparton, with support from Greater Shepparton Business Network, have invited people and organisations to register their interest in the event, to be held at the McIntosh Centre, Shepparton Showgrounds on Wednesday, April 14.
The release said local employers, industry groups, registered training organisations, Apprentice Connect Australia Providers, group training organisations, employment support providers, government agencies and community organisations were encouraged to take part.
There is no cost to exhibit and no site fee. Exhibitors will receive an exhibition space and the opportunity to connect directly with job seekers from across the region.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Geoff Akers said the expo would help bring local employers and job seekers together and highlight the range of opportunities available across the region.
“The jobs expo will give local employers and organisations an opportunity to meet people who are actively exploring their next step and have meaningful conversations face-to-face,” he said.
“Greater Shepparton has a diverse range of industries, businesses and career pathways and this event will help showcase those opportunities in one place.
“I encourage local employers, training organisations, industry groups and support providers to get involved and be part of an event focused on connecting local people with local opportunities.”
Workforce Australia Local Jobs (Goulburn Murray) job co-ordinator Faye D’Helin said the expo would bring employers, training organisations, employment services and local job seekers together in one place.
“The Greater Shepparton Jobs Expo provides a valuable opportunity to showcase the range of local employment and training pathways available while helping businesses connect with potential workers,” she said.
“It is also a chance for employers, training providers and employment support services to work together to support job seekers and strengthen our region’s workforce.
“We encourage organisations to register their interest and be part of this important regional event.”
