The opening, at the Yarrawonga Gallery, was attended by the artists and their family and friends.
The artworks from children in the wider Yarrawonga region’s primary schools depicted ‘My Favourite Thing’, and will be on display until Sunday, May 10.
The talent and the exceptional variety made it difficult for the judges to choose the winners for the ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Encouragement Award’ in four categories.
Five very excited young artists received their prizes, handed out amid cheers and applause, a heartwarming highlight of the Grand Opening.
YMAA congratulated all winners and gave a special thank you to the sponsors of the prizes, Across the Arts, Yarrawonga News and Gifts, and Yarrawonga Bunnings.
You can visit the Gallery to see the amazing artwork produced by the young artists and cast your vote for your favourite piece in the People’s Choice Award.
The winner will receive a prize valued at $100 and be notified by May 17.
The Gallery, at 26 Hovell Street, Yarrawonga, is open from Wednesday to Monday from 10 am to 3 pm, pending availability of volunteers.
