Manifolds and Mullets Mechanical is well loved for its honest approach, and its reputation has left it with the best problem a business can have — too many customers.

After two and a half years, owners Jaymie Paris and Sam Horgan-Paris have left behind Joseph Baldwin Place in Shepparton for a larger, stand-alone building at 9 Broomfield St.
Since the couple opened their dream business in November 2023, Ms Paris said “it just kept growing”.
“To be able to expand this quickly is a huge blessing,” she said.
“We don’t want people to wait three weeks for a car that’s having problems.”
The decision to move to a larger location was made so they could bring on two more mechanics and a receptionist, doubling their current capacity.
The new site has more space for cars and people alike.
“We’ve got a really good waiting room for you if you have kids or a pram,” Ms Paris said.
Ms Paris credits the business’ ethos for its success.
Manifolds and Mullets Mechanical was founded on the belief that all customers deserve fair rates and honesty from their mechanics.
Ms Paris said that women were often taken advantage of and overcharged at the mechanic.
The couple take the time to video call their clients to explain the issues with their car.
“It’s nice to have proof that you can see,” Ms Paris said.
“It’s the main reason that we have so many recommendations by word-of-mouth.”
The business also welcomes low-income customers, often explaining how to fix issues that someone could do themselves to avoid paying for a mechanic.
“It’s not about the money,” Ms Paris said.
The new site opened on Monday, June 22 after a wave of community support helped the couple move their business.
Customers, families and a church member all turned out to share the load.
Ms Paris said they were “incredible human beings”.
Jason Senior, a return customer, turned up with a large truck to help where he could.
“He saved us a good four or five hours,” Ms Paris said.
