The Australian Federal Police executed search warrants in Echuca St in Moama and Livingstone St in Mathoura, on behalf of Services Australia.
Four to five vehicles were seen outside a Mathoura property in Livingstone St for most of the day.
“These search warrants form part of an ongoing investigation and any further inquiries should be directed to Services Australia,” an AFP spokesperson said.
However, a Services Australia spokesperson said: "As the investigation is ongoing, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
The Riv understands the investigation is in relation to alleged Centrelink fraud.
Two officers from NSW Police attended for security and to investigate any NSW crimes they may come across, but no offences were identified.
A nearby resident said he saw four or five AFP vehicles parked at the Livingstone St property for about six hours.
“I noticed them about 7.30 am and there were about nine cops,” he said.
“I couldn't see what they were doing as there's a six-foot fence around the property.”
