A Tongala liquid fertiliser business about to embark on a multimillion-dollar upgrade has received a boost in the form of a $1 million grant from the Federal Government.

SLTEC Fertilisers will use the grant to expand its production capability and enable it to reach more markets domestically and overseas.

Federal Member for Nicholls Damian Drum, who visited the plant on Thursday, said the project was important to Australia’s mission to secure Australia’s supply chain resilience.

SLTEC managing director Jamie McMaster said the project would enable the company to increase its manufacturing capacity and enhance its flexibility to meet the growing needs of agriculture.
