These local officers will proudly march and gather for the annual Police Remembrance Day commemorative service.
Leading Senior Constable Shane Roberts said the day held significant importance for officers and legacy members.
“It is a day to remember those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice and express our deepest gratitude for their service,” he said.
Campaspe police will also lend their support to local Victoria Police Legacy members attending the service — the families of officers who lost their lives either in the line of duty or following their years of service.
“Giving our support to these families is a very important part of the day,” Leading Sen Constable Roberts said.
Leading Sen Constable Roberts said it could be a very personal day of reflection for members.
“We have all lost colleagues at some point in our careers,” he said.
“It can be a sombre reminder of the important work we do in our community.”
The annual event draws together Victoria Police members, community members, civic leaders and school representatives in a shared act of remembrance for officers who gave their lives in service to the community.
The service will be held at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Bendigo, from 10am on September 30.
All members of the local community are warmly encouraged to attend and show their support for Victoria Police and the families of those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
