The appeal is the organisation’s primary annual fundraiser, with all funds supporting the delivery of its community support programs.
This year’s Campaspe Shire appeal officially launched on Monday, May 18 at the Echuca Salvos Store, led by Northern Victoria area officer Captain Fleur Hodge.
“We're living in a time when many Australians are doing it tough,” Ms Hodge said.
“The rising cost of groceries, fuel, rent, utilities continues to place pressure on households and for some of us, this is stressful, but for others it's overwhelming.
“These challenges are not somewhere else, somewhere far away, they’re right here — in Echuca, in Rochester, in Kyabram and our surrounding communities.”

In Echuca, around 10 families receive assistance with food, vouchers and other essential support, while in Rochester, a weekly community lunch brings about 30 people together for a meal and an opportunity to connect.
In Kyabram, the organisation provides food parcels and ongoing assistance to about 10 people each week across two service days.
The Red Shield Appeal plays a vital role in ensuring this support can continue for those who need it most.
Collection points will open throughout the shire in the coming weeks.
Collections will begin in Echuca-Moama from Monday, May 25, followed by Rochester on Monday, June 1, and in Kyabram from Tuesday, June 9 to Friday, June 12.
In Echuca-Moama, donations can be made at Echuca West Woolworths, Moama Woolworths, Big W, Coles, Beechworth Bakery and Aldi.
In Rochester, collection points will be located at Majors IGA, while in Kyabram donations can be made at Ritchies IGA and Woolworths.
Beyond donations, people can also get involved by fundraising online or encouraging participation through schools, workplaces and community groups.
Salvation Army Echuca is also seeking additional volunteers to assist with the appeal and broader service work.
Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Lynne Turnbull on 0459 400 256 or Tamara Sperling on 0427 666 155.
