Watson St Pavilion will open after a delay in starting its long-term lease.
As the original tenant, Watson St Pavilion was unable to operate at the kiosk for personal reasons and was granted an extension on the start of its lease.
During this time, My Dad’s Honey and the council made a short-term agreement, allowing it to occupy the site over the summer months and until June 30.
“This opened the opportunity for a short-term agreement with My Dad’s Honey, at a peppercorn rate, for the kiosk over the summer months and up until June this year, with full transparency to My Dad’s Honey around the status of the long-term lease,” council chief executive Pauline Gordon said.
“Council is grateful for the positive contribution to the community and activation over those months and has conveyed this to directly to My Dad’s Honey.
“Welcome Watson St Pavilion!”
It is now ready to open and will start operating after works are completed at the kiosk.
On its website, the business is described as an upscale hospitality venue that has been in the works for many years.
“We at Watson St Pavilion have been planning a beautiful, inviting and inclusive luxury space that enhances the stunning backdrop of the Murray River for over three years,” it says.
“Our aim to offer a refined and opulent menu to pair with the magnificent venue, creating a space for relaxation, community and deepening human connection has always been in the forefront of our planning.
“We cannot wait to bring this to you.”
Watson St Pavilion will share its progress on its social media and through its website, where it has also promised “it will be worth the wait”.
