Meanwhile, Echuca United posted two impressive results in the Murray league, the Eagles footballers shocking leader Congupna in a 10.9 (69) to 10.9 (69) draw, while the netballers beat The Road 52-21.
Elsewhere, Tongala had a tough day at the office against Mulwala, losing the football 10.5 (65) to 8.5 (53) and the netball 57-51.
In Heathcote District Football Netball League, Lockington-Bamawm United split its clashes with White Hills, the Cats taking out senior football 13.9 (87) to 8.6 (54), though losing A-grade netball 60-42.
Leitchville-Gunbower suffered another close football defeat, this time to Heathcote, 10.13 (73) to 9.6 (60).
Finally, to Picola District Football Netball League, where Picola United’s footballers snapped their losing streak with a 10.12 (72) to 11.6 (72) draw against Dookie United, but the Blues’ netball side lost 53-24.
Mathoura wasn’t able to notch a win across both codes against Strathmerton, going down 30.22 (202) to 2.1 (13) in senior football and 40-24 in A-grade netball.
