Since the Finley Show last month, the team have brought home awards from each of their show visits.
This includes the Cobram Show last weekend, the Numurkah Show last Wednesday, and at the Melbourne Royal Show earlier this month.
At Cobram, they won several awards across cattle, sheep, student parader and judging categories.
This included supreme exhibit and most successful exhibitor in cattle.
They also had grand champion bull and female in the cattle, champion Poll Dorset ewe, champion ram lamb and best lamb of the show.
Their efforts at Numurkah Show last week - featured in the Country News inserted in this edition - included champion ram and ewe and champion junior judge and parader Ava Schlink.
And at the pinnacle of Victorian country shows, the team once again performed particularly well at the Melbourne Royal.
Two weeks away in Melbourne saw the team awarded across several categories.
In the open Poll Dorset sheep categories the team won over 14 combined titles including champion ram, champion ewe and most successful exhibitor as well as the prestigious interbreed best lamb in show.
The school were also dominant in the Melbourne Royal Beef Carcase Competitions.
The Finley High School team had six winners and 14 top three placing student paraders across Junior, Intermediate and Senior category heats as well as the Senior Champion Schools and College Steer or Heifer Parader - Maggie Bramley and Reserve Junior Champion Schools and College Steer or Heifer Parader Indie Matheson.
They also won open category ordinary and champion carcase domestic (400kg to 480kg) with Clove who was sired by 71 Limousins Tom and was out of Nellie a Finley High School cow that now resides on the property of Scott and Jen Isedale.
As a result, the Finley High School team claimed the Bott-Burston Perpetual Trophy for most successful school or college exhibitor across both the led and carcase evaluation segments of the competition and The Melbourne Polytechnic Trophy as part of the Carcase competition.
Overall, they won Best Maintained School or College Exhibitor ahead of Salesian College Sunbury and Grant High School and finished second to Salesian College Sunbury in the Grand Champion Carcase of the Melbourne Royal Show.
Another highlight was the Calf Classic where the team won best fancy dress calf, dressing up themselves and the calf all as Dolly Parton.
Finley High School Ag Show team teacher Gary Webb said the results are, “testament to the hard work and dedication of the students” and the support they receive from the community.
The show team has one more show to go this year - the Yea Show on November 28.
