SPORTING clubs in Echuca and the surrounding district have been handed a boost after Campaspe Shire Council announced a raft of financial support measures last week.
Financial support is being offered in the following areas:
User agreements
- Waive ground hire fees for the 2020/21 financial year for community groups occupying council buildings and facilities by a User Agreement.
- Defer the recalculation of utility payments for community groups occupying council buildings and facilities by a User Agreement until after September 20 2020.
Stadiums
- Waive annual stadium fees for community groups and operators impacted by the restricted activities direction.
However, the waiving of fees applies only to those directly impacted by the Victorian Government's restrictions.
Cohuna AFL prospect is hot property
● COHUNA's Josh Treacy has been identified as one of Victoria Country's hottest prospects ahead of this year's AFL draft by afl.com.au.
Riley Beveridge, one of the website's reporters, described Treacy as "a strong 193cm forward, (who) is another interesting prospect.
“Not the quickest, he can crash a pack and embraces a physical contest in order to create space for crumbing forwards at his feet.
“He spent time training with Essendon last pre-season.”
Jack Ginnivan and Seamus Mitchell were the two other Bendigo Pioneer representatives named in the report.
