For every purchase of a sub at Subway Echuca on November 1, Subway will donate the cost of a meal to those in need through Foodbank.
Subway’s partnership with leading hunger-relief organisation Foodbank Australia helps provide relief to more than 2400 local charities.
Subway Country Australia director Chris Churchmichael said World Sandwich Day was a great opportunity for people to make a positive impact on children, local communities and others experiencing food insecurity.
“We’re inviting Victorians to join us at Subway Echuca, Kyabram and Deniliquin on Friday, November 1 for breakfast, lunch or dinner,” he said.
Foodbank Australia chief executive Brianna Casey said the organisation was excited to partner with Subway again to continue making a difference to Australians experiencing food insecurity.
“The support we receive from Subway and its customers on World Sandwich Day is vital to Foodbank. This support will help us provide meals to more than 815,000 Australians,” she said.
“The donation of meals is more than just food, this relief provides benefits to health, emotional wellbeing, sense of self-worth, social relationships and ultimately, the overall standard of living for the food relief recipients.”
