One hundred hungry diners.
More than $1700 raised for locals in need.
Last year’s Uniting Care pancake dinner was a recipe for success.
And this year, the mouth-watering event — which has been running for more than a decade — is back and set to be as tasty and life-changing as ever.
Held at Echuca Moama Uniting Church, the annual Pancake Day event will be on Shrove Tuesday, March 5.
The two-course meal will feature a savoury pancake dish, followed by a spread of sweet pancakes topped with fruit salad and ice cream.
Best of all, every bite will help raise money for locals in need.
Proceeds go straight to Uniting Care’s outreach program, which helps people living in crisis including those experiencing homelessness, addictions, domestic violence and financial hardship.
‘‘Last year we served more than 1500 meals in the Echuca community for a small gold coin donation where possible,’’ organiser Loris Cole said.
‘‘We give the money to Uniting Care and they distribute it back out to communities like ours.’’
The pancake night will be held in the Echuca Moama Uniting Church hall on Tuesday, March 5 from 6.30pm.
The cost is $13 per person and $30 for a family.
