“Backing JDK’s expansion will create local jobs in Shepparton and cements the Goulburn Valley’s reputation as a leader in our food manufacturing sector,” she said.

JDK Management has three locations in Shepparton, at Callister St, Smythe St and Doyles Rd, and provides cold and dry storage and container services for multinational food processing and manufacturing businesses.

JDK Management operations manager Paul Kalafatis said the funding would help get the ball rolling on the expansion at the Doyles Rd site this year, which will double the company’s existing storage space.

“It allows us to offer a competitive and cutting-edge service to support the growth of new and existing clients,” he said.

JDK Management is a third-generation family business and is now one of the largest storage warehouses in Shepparton, employing more than 40 people.

Food manufacturing is one of the Goulburn Valley’s biggest industries and accounts for more than 85 per cent of the region’s manufacturing exports, which are valued at $640 million.

The Regional Jobs Fund is part of the government’s $156 million Regional Jobs and Infrastructure Fund to help businesses create jobs in regional Victoria.
