City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Geoff Akers described the funding as a “critical piece of the puzzle”.
The Trunk Infrastructure Fund aims to increase the supply of serviced land available and is part of the government’s Economic Growth Statement.
Stage one of the project opened at the end of August 2026, more than two decades after it was first proposed in 2004, featuring four subdivisions with utility connections ready for development.
Stage two began design work after it was endorsed at that month’s Greater Shepparton City Council meeting.
The utilities connections include water, power, sewerage, roads and NBN connections.
GV Link has already attracted tenants Flavour Makers and K&S Pallets.
Cr Akers said the project would play an important role in supporting Greater Shepparton’s continued growth.
“GV Link Enterprise Park has long been recognised as a project of regional and state significance, offering exceptional connections to major road and rail freight networks and supporting our region’s role as a key economic driver for northern Victoria,” he said.
Cr Akers thanked the government and Rural and Regional Development Minister Michaela Settle.
“This funding will help advance the infrastructure required to support the precinct’s next phase of development and ensure it is well positioned to attract investment, create jobs and support long-term economic prosperity for our community.”
Nine other projects across regional Victoria have also received new funding, including in Wangaratta and Mansfield.
