The 38-year-old Deniliquin man was charged with two counts of drunk driving and a string of traffic offences in Mathoura and Deniliquin.
Police were initially alerted to a car being driven dangerously in Mathoura about 8pm on January 9.
The unregistered and uninsured car was found parked in Mathoura, with checks revealing the owner's licence was disqualified from August 2020 to August 2025.
A short time later the car pulled out, and it was stopped by police.
After the driver failed a roadside breath test, he was taken to Moama police station where he recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.134.
He was released on conditional bail about 11.30pm.
About an hour later, in Deniliquin, the same car was spotted on the Cobb Hwy.
Police say when they attempted to stop the car, it tried to evade them.
Two police cars were involved in a short pursuit, which reached speeds of up to 150km/h, before the car was eventually stopped.
The same man failed a roadside breath test, before recording an alcohol reading of 0.097 at Deniliquin police station.
As well as facing further driving offences, the man was also charged with breaching bail conditions imposed in Moama, which prohibited him from driving a vehicle.
He was refused bail to an out-of-sessions hearing in Deniliquin on January 10 before being remanded in custody to face Wagga Wagga Local Court at a later date.
