Police have received information about a man selling raffle tickets under the guise of Headspace 360.
Police have confirmed with the organisation it does not sell raffle tickets door-to-door.
Murray River Police District western sectors Inspector Paul Huggett said these scammers took advantage of people's good nature.
“Remember, if a deal is ‘too good to be true’ — it often is,” he said.
“If you are approached by any person purporting to sell/attempting to sell door-to-door — be it solar panels, bitumen/concreting or Headspace 360 — confirm their details in every instance with the company they purport to represent.
“Overtly make the call in front of them and in every instance contact police so we can attend and check details.”
Insp Huggett also suggested taking note of what they looked like and were wearing (hat, hair, facial hair, shirt, pants, shoes, height).
“You might save yourself, family and friends a lot of heartbreak,” he said.
The man is described as aged in his 20s, 170cm tall, medium build, well presented and wearing a suit.
