Emergency services were greeted with a surprise when they were called to a Kialla house fire, with more than 100 cannabis plants found growing in the house.

Fire Rescue Victoria was called to the fire at 26 Brambuck Ave at about 6.10am on Friday, October 9 after a 000 caller reported a roof fire at the house.
An FRV spokesperson said firefighters arrived to find the house fully alight, with firefighters working quickly to knock down the blaze.
Police put the cannabis plants in evidence bags at the scene.
The scene was declared under control by firefighters at 7.51am.
The fire was deemed suspicious, and police were called.
Police tape was set up cordoning off the house and two officers were left to guard the house.
At about 11.45am, members of Shepparton police’s Criminal Investigation Unit arrived.

Soon afterwards, they could be seen carrying out multitudes of cannabis plants, ranging in size from plants that were mature and looked to be more than a metre tall, to others that were seedlings.
More than 100 cannabis plants were found growing inside the house in five different rooms.
The cannabis crop was discovered after the house it was in caught fire on Friday, October 9.
The plants appeared to be growing in black pots, with a pile of pots left behind by police after they pulled the plants out of them and banged off the dirt from around the roots against the side of the garage.
Police investigations into the cannabis crop are continuing.
