Matthew Alfio Sorbello, 38, of Shepparton appeared briefly in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 13, for a filing hearing.
He has been charged with trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs, possessing 1,4-butanediol, dangerous driving while pursued by police, and failing to stop on police direction.
He has also been charged with three counts of driving while disqualified, dealing with property suspected to be the proceeds of crime, committing an indictable offence while on bail, and five counts of contravening a bail condition.
The charges stem from several incidents.
A large amount of what is alleged by police to be methamphetamine was seized from a Shepparton house during a police search on Tuesday, May 12.
Sorbello did not make any pleas to the charges in court, and he was remanded in custody until his next court appearance in August.
